Dawn has been coaching throughout her career, is an accredited professional coach, and NLP practitioner – she is also a member of and accredited by the official coaching bodies: ACCPH, EMCCUK, ANLP, ICF and APC.
As well as experience as a black female leader, Dawn is a DE&I expert, and senior HR professional having worked as a consultant, trainer and speaker in multiple industries for almost 20 years. This breadth of experience allows an entirely unique offering to her clients, expertise in what is required and desirable for C-suite and Director level leaders, and how to showcase this in the workplace, whilst also having an expertise in the challenges minority employees face, and that businesses face in trying to address the disparity at board level in relation to underrepresented groups.
Dawn’s dynamic, caring and intuitive personality and method of coaching, looks at the bespoke barriers facing underrepresented leaders, and combines immersive mindset techniques, traditional coaching as well as professional skills guidance and mentoring to help her clients navigate bias, micro-aggressions, misogyny, ableism, impostor syndrome, and generational and societal psychological imprints that can impact minority group individuals.
‘During my career, I have been fortunate enough to have had opportunities presented to me, but I didn’t always have the self belief that as a black woman I was being offered these due to my talent or tokenism. Impostor Syndrome led me to doubt whether I really had the ability to embrace the opportunities! I developed Diverse Leaders Coaching, to support the great work organisations are doing to create spaces and open doors to those who are currently underrepresented at executive level. I seek to be the change I want to see in the world, and it is my absolute privilege and honour to be part of helping address disparity for minority leaders in the UK and globally’
